This happened to one of my bushes - unfortunately it did eventually die and when I emptied the pot, there were dozens of vine weevil lavae. This is the second bush I have lost to these. Im now mulching with slate to stop the blighters getting into my other bluberries and laying eggs or whatever they do. Are they attracted to acid soil or something as my other pots are ok?

No idea, this is the first time I'm trying blueberries myself. It started off well when I transplanted it into a bigger pot, but then the growth stagnated and I thought I might have to replace all its compost with ericaceous (I stupidly put in normal compost at first). I have only got around to replacing maybe 30-40% of the compost. Today I found something looking like larvae crawling on the leaves. I crushed it with a spade quickly, no idea what it is exactly... now I'm worried that the plant is harbouring loads of these and it will die eventually. :(
