Having read about green manure here somewhere I have started some nettles off in barrels of water and was wonering how long they need to mature and what plants would benefit from being watered by them?

Untill they have more or less totally disintegrated... depends on ambient temp., anything but esp. leaf veg as they are packed with nitrogen... you can just wilt them a bit and use as an accelerator in your compost bin if it is too public to wee into!

I also use nettle tea until my comfrey's are big enough for picking. I use the tea on all of my plants as I think that they'll all benefit.
