My new fruit cage
« on: April 10, 2007, 06:28:38 »

the blueberries (I must go and investigate the white flecks on the leaves with my glasses ON !)

the goosegogs

I'm hoping my new "house the jo built" fruit cage will offer sufficient protection against the greedy birdies !

at the moment the ends are actually open.  now whether the insects are clever enough to find their way in is another matter !  i'm assuming they'll follow their noses which the birdies may not !

whatya reckon ?

well, depends if your bees are more intelligent than ours.. ;D we cover a bed of strawberries with plastic for a few weeks ..early strawberries..yum..when we're at the plot, we take the cover off as there are flowers on them at the mo..we'll put a nt over them later, after frost is finished, then the bees can find them..so, long way of saying............I don't know   ;D

Have built myself a new fruit cage, for my new strawerry bed, and also have to repair my huge one, as some kids thought it would be funny to rip all my netting. Little swines!!! I seem to be addicted to making things at the mo. Not that that's a bad thing, but find myself building when I should be digging and planting!
Looking from the outside in...
