talk about desperate
« on: April 08, 2007, 18:28:06 »
We went to our half plot today to get a bit of broccoli and I couldn't believe my eyes.We cover the compost bags with a rubber sheet and it just goes over the ground a bit. A tiny puddle had formed on the edge and there in the middle of it was a pile of frog spawn.. Well you just couldn't leave it there to dry out could you?. So Tony went home to get an old bowl to put it in. Came back with a bowl with some elodea out of the pool to make them feel more at home when they hatch out. Hoppefully they will return teh favour when they become frogs and keep some of the pests down for us.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

They used to breed in some small pools at the bottom of a massive spoil tip where I lived in Cornwall. Any time it rained while they were spawning, there was spawn in every little puddle.
