Growing my first lettuce this year and they are looking good though i still have them in modules.  Should i plant them on the plot? will they need watering daily?

I don't - I always plant them so they are shaded by taller plants - early in the season by Broad Beans then in amongst my runners.  Apart from seed drills which are watered whenever dry and transplants which are puddled in, I avoid most watering.  I like things to find it themselves - and they will if they go deep enough which they do if you don't water.

Mine aren't big enough to go out yet but like Redclanger once watered in they are on their own...

OK i'll put them in and water them and let them find their feet... Will have to put up some shading i guess as i have no shade at the moment on the plot.

I don't shade mine but it does help in really hot weather...
one plot holder grows them under his beans between the uprights for the row!
