OH allowed me to get one packet of seeds from france  ;D

I picked Oignon rouge de Florence

The packaging is great it actualy got the seed in 2 sections so secessional planting and only cost 2euros something ( cant remember ) And the packaging has a waterproof cut out area for using like a label when you plant!!!

i found a list of the rest of the veg they have on offer but no online shop :-(

Not grown any but bought some 'Oignon Rouge de Simiane' from France also (even tho they're Italian!!??!!) in October - which after a quick Google, is the same thing.  I'm guessing they woud be treated the same as "normal" onions?  Shall we do an experiment and see?!

I bought some cipolla rossa lunga di firenza ?onion/shallot seeds from Seeds of Italy.  I liked the picture in the catalogue, but have no idea how to grow them!!

Shall try to follow the very limited instructions on the packet and hope for the best!!

Let me know how you get on Cambourn and Sally_C, and I'll let you know how I get on.

Try this website - might give you the results in a wierd grammatical order, but could be worth a try!

I bought some endive presumably from the same company as yours Cambourne,  I was really impressed with the presentation, two little foil packets and the plant label all included for the same sort of price we pay for standard packs.
