Hi all, just wondering whether globe atichokes and jerusalem artichokes need to be included in crop rotations, or can they be put in a permanent bed? also, are these the only 2 types of artichoke? Thanks

Globe arichokes are perenials so they stay put. Jerusalem atrichokes get dug up every year but are hard to get rid of once planted so they are best put in the same place every year (use them as a wind break). Both plants will create a lot of shade so think carefully where you put them.
There are also chinese artichokes -

Chinese artichokes need careful digging out as well apparently. They're from the same family as mint ... ERK :o
