Phew, so it isn't just my greenhouse where there isn't even any standing room!

Tee, is your greenhouse heated?  I ask as you have your toms out there.  My toms are still languishing in the conservatory but my greenhouse does have the heater in it, just keeping it cosy at night if it drops to low.  Wondering if my toms, or at least some of them, might be okay out there now - toughen them up a little.

Oh well only two weeks and the first babies will be ready to be re-homed

EJ-both my houses are bubble wrapped and the plants seem OK-if the outside temp drops to 1C or less I turn on the heat

EJ, Previously we started all seeds toms etc etc off in the house on propagators, then took them to g'house where we had paraffin heaters.   
This year BIG changes as OH has given up driving and seeds have been planted in the unheated g'house  then put in mini g'houses inside there so I suppose it's double protection - no heaters as too far away to lug paraffin and check daily.  Anyway all are coming on a treat and we swear they are sturdier!

To answer your question EJ ....yes but the heater has only been on one night this year.

As you can see the tomatoes are as high up as I can get them to get maximum light.

This allows me to grow compact plants that  give me an extra truss  ;D )

Under that shelf is my hotbed which is on continuously from early January until I have finished germinated/ propagated what ever I am growing (usually MAY)

I find there is sufficient heat rising to keep my stuff frost free under the upvc lining, apart from that time I mentioned when the forecast -4*C.

I have a propagator for when higher germination times are required.

Soooo professional Tee.  A great set up.  Well, if Cleo can do it - the tomato king, and the lovely Wicker in the chilly north can, then my toms are going to be heading up yonder garden to the greenhouse to slow down.   ;D

am desperate to sow more things but sadly don't have a greenhouse :(
and the airing cupboard is full of trays and propagators and loo rolls ::)
my beds aren't dug yet so I've got 4 days of digging ahead of me :-\ (I guess I'd better stock up on the Radox!)

Yes wow. Does the bubble rap keep temps down in the day? Do you open vents on a morning and close at night. My problem it is too warm during day and really cold nights.I've lost majority of my plants i'm getting concerned now. As a rule i've done all my propogating at home and took up to lottie when ready for final position. Moved to a smaller house with hardly any sun so i'm snookered.

The greenhouse they are in is a bit old and dilapitated (like me) and has no vents as such just a few broken panes and draughts which keeps things about right.

I think the key thing is 'watering' keep them moist but not saturated(what I call the damp side of dry)

I probably only water once or twice a week and thats only if I think they need it.

Let the plants tell you if they are thirsty, they are like kids, they sulk if they don't get what they want.

When they do get it they seem to respond better for getting a treat rather than eating between meals if you like   ::);D

The bubble wrap is now being more used more for shading rather than frost protection, although it will do that if needs be.

So yes I suppose it is controlling the temperature to a point.

It looks very professional TeeGee and you look well organised. I have things everywhere now. See two pics one of my the dining room table and the next one upstairs in the front bedroom. Have things on windowsills and have also started putting things out in the unheated greenhouses, the home one and the lottie one. I know it is a bit risky but I am just starting to run out of house space. busy_lizzie
