2007 vegetable and flower show?
« on: March 22, 2007, 18:04:43 »
I am assuming we will show our biggest and best again this year as the harvests come in?  Same as last year really, section by section as things are ready.  It isn't a competition, more a great reference to see what does well for other people and to maybe tempt peeps to grow them next season, and so we can show our lovely produce off.

Emma didn't really have anything to "show" last year but I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the member's produce etc. Hope it's done again this year,

I'll remember to take more photos this year so that I can contribute to this section :)

Yes please do EJ.

I hope this is going to be a good year for me, since a year of reading up on how to grow should help  ;)

Not meaning to be a bore....but I think it might be a nice idea to keep the chat in a thread like this one about the photos, rather than clutter up the gallery of all of our lovely produce....what do you think?

The only trouble with growing to show is what to grow, how to grow it to get the best result, and timing. Thats not including the time taken for preparation to grow and preparing the veg for the show I love it but its hard work and time consuming.

Well this is really only a virtual show.  A gallery of our produce to show what we have grown, how it looks, so others can see how things should look.  As I mentioned at the start of the thread, not really a competition.

My apologies i thought that some of you were going to have a go at entering a local vegie show.
I think what you have suggested is a great idea as it has to be great help to each other, as we all have different methods of trying to get good results. Would you mind if i was part of it.

Davy, it is open to everyone, no need to apologise.  It is just a bit of fun.  I do also enter the village show, just for fun.  ;D
