Bargains Galore
« on: March 19, 2007, 21:19:06 »
So far, on this page alone, there have been five threads on bargains or special offers at various stores. I wonder if this topic would merit it's own little board subject.

Then we could all get (or give) a heads-up when there are goodies to be had. It could also cover the cheapest price spotted (either in shops or catalogues), for things like, say, asparagus crowns or seed potatoes (or just seeds!).

Dan, what do you reckon - is it a runner? Or have I just bean silly?

(blimey, need you ask?)

 ;D ;D ;D

Top idea, Amazin.  :D
Though I think it needs to be only for lottie/garden related stuff -- growy things, tools etc -- rather than straying into non-lottie bargains. Otherwise it'll take over the site, given the bargain-hunters on A4A!

Oh, with you there triffid - only for 'growing-related' stuff (NOT Viagra, you lot!), which could be plants, seeds, wheelbarrows, greenhouses, whatever - just like the threads have been about, in fact. Oh, and possibly recommendations of good recycling sites as well? But it would definitely be based on purchasing (or free offers of course!) rather than growing or making.

And people could throw in questions like - 'Where can I get the cheapest...?' or ' Anyone found a supplier of X in my area?' though you'd have to watch out for businesses doing a bit of back-door advertising without handing Dan any dosh.

It would save trawling round the other boards, as sometimes people aren't sure where to place these threads.
