Found a local dealer in the Euronics chain, prices more expensive and no deal once again :'( (I do make an effort to be pleasant- honest ;D)
Off to Comet tomorrow, John Lewis Monday. I just wish you could have heard the phone conversations I've had with Tesco today.......Unbelievable!

Just buy it all online and have it delivered - much less hassle!

Louise, I'm begining to think you are right, no-one seems remotely interested in doing a deal, so I think my expectations were way off. Tesco do the best deal online, so it seems they will get the buisness and the points will be my discount. Is the world changing and I haven't noticed? ???

I'll just try Comet tomorrow.

We buy all our big electrical stuff from John Lewis as they match the price of other shops and also give a free five year warranty on TVs and two years (I think) on other stuff. They also deliver free so we think they're good.
When I needed help with installing a Freeview box there was someone at the shop to talk through the problem and get it sorted.
Would definitely recommend them.

No joy with John Lewis but the lady was most helpful so she gets 10/10 for customer service :D BUT I have managed a deal with a local supplier I rang as a last resort. Not only did he offer me a reasonable discount with no delivery charge, but he told me where to shop for good prices on the small electricals. I love that man- he is a hero  ;D
Thanks one and all for your suggestions and comments, they were greatly appreciated. Just got to sort out the fencing now................

hiya, we had to replace our telly in dec., we had a look around the big shops, picked what we wanted then had a look on the internet. we ended up buying one for £700 that we'd seen in currys for £1200. i was a bit worried about spending a load of money when i hadn't heard of the company. (what if they took our money and scarpered)...................guess who delivered it. ...............CURRYS !!!!
i'll never pay the money big shops want ever again.

Glad to see you did your deal with a local man Em. I'm sure it will pay in the long run for service and help if and when needed.

we managed to get a new fridge freezer before christmas i got the OH to pick which one he wanted and we then looked for it for about 2 weeks to get the lowest price.

Ordered it and had it deivered.

Then they took the payment for the item AGAIN

Contacted them and they returned the money back to the bank same day and sent up £50 with a letter of appology   ;D

No, didn't miss it, just thought that lady must LOVE ironing (quite like it myself) or be a gadget woman.
Shopped at suggested local shop for the small electricals today, £37 in total cheaper than Tescos, Amazon, Argos etc, and another £9 off too.
One happy daughter, methinks. One happy Mother anyhow. ;D
