Do blackcurrants and gooseberries need supporting wires like raspberries? We are about to plant some.

My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea. He wanted to conquer the bloody world. I wanted Liverpool to be untouchable. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in. Bill Shankly.

Basic answer is No... but you might want to train a gooseberry along wires to avoid getting too scratched when picking the fruit! Saw an espaliered redcurrant at one of the HDRA gardens which was a beautiful sight!
