3 Trees Down
« on: January 18, 2007, 21:24:35 »
We had some fierce winds today, I went outside in the late afternoon to find that two greengage trees had lost some very large branches, and a dead cyprus which I had been going to remove had blown over. I was very lucky - it missed the greenhouse, and it pulled the roots out which saved me digging them out.

Now to get busy with the bow saw and billhook. Greengage logs for next Christmas? I'm glad I've still got an open fireplace.

Sawed the wood up today (that's one warm, two more to go, one when I stack it all up and another when I burn it). Damage caused by the greengage branch, a smashed  conifer bush and a smashed conifer in a large pot, the pot was OK though. My wife wasn't very pleased, they were her conifers.
