Grrr Allotment Neighbours
« on: January 20, 2007, 17:54:57 »
Rant starting------

6 Months ago our neighbours erected a shed on their plot.

Unlike everyone else they didn't put it at the end of their plot, instead they put it right in the centre against the path between us causing the row of grapes which I had put in only a few months previous to be shaded.

They rested the shed on some posts without securing them and so guess what, in the gales the shed is now on my plot on top of the posts that held the wires for the vines and a gooseberry bush.

Words escape me!

Rant Over now!

Are they gonna repair your damaged stuff, Are they gonna build the next shed at the end of their plot?

If they start erecting another in the same place I would complain to the chairman about its location. Take some photos to prove what damage has occurred before they remove the evidence.

Thats good advice, thanks.

They havent been down to the site since the gales, which is suprising because it was very bad and caused a lot of damage.

Yes have taken photos today, did try to move it myself but its too heavy and dont want to damage it, the PS Broccoli and Gooseberry bush underneath are looking pretty sad though.

Some people are very selfish and just don't think about others when they are doing something.  I always ask, check and double check whenever I am doing anything on the plot which might interfere with someone else.  Never ever had a problem, and hope that I am a coureous girlie.  However, there are others that do as they please, when they please, without a thought for others.  I really really sympathise plotofweeds.

Hope the goosgog and grapes pull through.  :-\

Went to the plot today,

The neighbours were there having extracted their shed and righted it.

They didnt mention the damage caused by the shed but instead said they were lucky they didnt have more damage and asked if I'd had any.

I replied that yes I'd had a shed land on my plants and damage this post here,

still she said nothing, no apology, nothing.

Ignorance from vandalising yobs is one thing...

Some folks just have no regard for others. I would certainly complain about the position of the shed regarding the grapes( lets face it if they were gardeners they would have known not to put it there) Concerning the wind blowing the shed over, It may still have damaged your crops even if it had been on the other side of their plot. I was fortunate when our greenhouse went gamboling over the plot that it landed in the corner of our own plot. I would have been mortified had it damaged anyone elses stuff. I'm afraid the are them and us love. Thats the way it goes. I do hope your stuff recovers
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"
