Everything in at Wilkinsons
« on: January 08, 2007, 13:43:51 »
They had fruit bushes, seed potatoes, onion sets and shallots in today, plus the seeds on BOGOF.

I went there and to Netto with £20 in my paw and have come away with;

44 packets of seed
2 variety packs, one with 6 types of tomato, the other 6 herbs
7.5kg seed potatoes (Nicola, Desiree and Rocket)
2 onion sets, 100 in each
3 bulbs garlic

plus change for a cup of tea  ;D

Might have to go back for a couple of fruit trees!

They are all standars varieties, nothing exotic, but ok for a beginner, right?

Guess who else went to Wilkies this morning. I got a big bag of pentland javelin and got my Tony 3 packs of dahlia's cos I love them and he likes to grow them. lol. I've just sent him down to the greenhouse for some trays to put the spuds in to chit. I'm getting so excited. ::)
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

actually liska mine has survived this time! one that i bought in the summer collapsed because it was one of those tomato greenhouse that acted like a big sail in the wind. i then bought a 4 level greenhouse and it's wonderful. i did have a put a big rock on of the bottom shelf though just to be on the safe side. and through all these windy days we've had, it's survived.

MT, they have more or less the same as last year in my branch:
strawbs (multipack), rasps, currants, gooseberry, mini (i.e. patio) apples and pears, grapes, kiwi, citrus fruits, etc, etc; also asparagus crowns (packs of 3 for £2) and artichokes (same), and so on.

No greenhouses yet, but plenty of pots, planters and suchlike.
Lesson for life:
1. Breathe in     2. Breathe out     3. Repeat
