HELP
Hi Guys,
As most of you know i am home in bed with a chest infection have been since thursday last week.
I have another week of being at home in bed, my brain will not allow me to do anything that involves thinking ( any of my PM messages might atest to that ). I cant go out to the garden, allotment, shops.
I cant read any books, bearly watch TV, cant lie down and that just causes me to cough more and eventualy i have to get up to throw up.
Help any suggestions as to what i can do? As i am starting to climb the walls!

Have a long hot deep (thoroughly un-water-conservation-minded ;)) steamy bath. Aromatic oils like lavender or tea tree will do you good. Karvol is also excellent as a medicinal bath-smelly.
Stick the radio on (somewhere safe, of course!) and veg for as long as you can, breathing deeply.
And drink lots of hot fluids (spiced apple juice with a stick of cinnamon is v v nice when you've got this kind of bug).
Wishing you better :-*

haha
maidenly handcraft in my husbands words washing, ironing and dishes!
not done any maidenly handcraft since i left school ( taught by nuns and priests ) so we had to do dressmaking, knitting, singing and cooking.
So when i moved from the lower school where the nuns had a grip of iron to the upper school where there grip was less so i fought back and did carpentry and woodwork with the boys!!

Sounds like the humour is still there, Cambie...that's a good sign. In fact, seeing as how you are a carpenter with a bad chest, 'appen you can knock yourself up a new one!

Bennettsleg's Patent Cold Get-Ridder-Of
In a mug, place:
juice of half a lemon (vit C dose)
1 measure of craddies ginger wine (ginger heats up the body from within)
1" piece of fresh ginger, pounded and squeezed for the juice (or 1cm piece, finely chopped. Don't use powdered ginger, it'll taste foul)
1
efferfesent
efferphe..
fizzing vitimin C tablet
1 tsp good honey
fill up with boiling water.
Have a hot curry for dinner followed by a very hot bath, drink the drink and go to bed with a hot water bottle. You'll heat up so much all the germs'll be killed off and you'll sweat it out in no time.

I know exactly what you mean, I was the same when I had ME. I was taping bad films on the box every night and couldn't even concentrate long enough to watch them. I never found a real solution, but it passes.

Hello Cam! I really feel for you! I'm asthmatic too - I don't have a chest infection but I have broken ribs! Not nice - but, you're right, the bl**dy boredom is even worse than the pain. I'm just sitting - day in, day out - watching the dust mount up and crocheting Granny squares at a mile a minute. Bored, bored, BORED!!! Thank heavens for A4A!!! Always good for a smile and a bit of company. Hope you feel much better really soon. xxx
