Asian pear - advice please on size, pollination, training
« on: February 27, 2007, 01:00:17 »
Have two Asian pear seedlings, grown in pots, which are coming up to their second year. Variety unknown. Have read up loads of info on the net about them, but would welcome advice from anyone who has actually got them growing as to:
What eventual size they may get to if left un-trained? - most other trees I have are either grown as espaliers, festooned, or restricted bush form on small rootstocks.
How do Asian pears respond to training?  -  being spur bearers I assmue they are they suitable for espalier style.
Having two, should I expect any pollination problems? - I do have other normal pear trees in the same area.
