Could you please rephrase that?
When you are finally sorted, what will you actually pay per month?

Sky broadband is £17 a month they plan on giving a capped or low speed service for free and a high speed service for £5 to full sky subscribers but are waiting for equipment to be installed at exchanges.
Cynics suggest that this will be a high contention (read C&%p) service but will bring down the cost of other systems.

Latest update:

After getting sorted out with a replacement box back at the begining of the year, we have been going fine with our sky plus. Until this week that is!

On tuesday we received our new HDD/DVD recorder, to replace our VHS/dvd player. We had a lot of problems geting it set up and had to shut down the TV and sky box a few times in the process. Ever since we have had LOTS  of problems recording programmes on sky plus. The decoder part works fine and there is no problem playing back previously recorded programmes, but we have great difficulty recording. Timer recording on the planner will not work; programmes fail to start recording at the right time and if left they 'Fail' due to no signal having been received. All the other channels transmit fine but the one being recorded comes up with a blank screen and the message 'No satelite signal is being received'

We can record manualy but this can only be done through the channel in question to be sucessfull and whilst recording no other channels can be viewed (we can normaly veiw or record one other), only the recording channel has a picture.

As for second recordings - forget it!

This is getting a little frustrating. We are having to rely on the new HDD recorder (for analogue channels), which to be honest we havent fully figured out how to operate yet!

I was wondering if there is anything I can do to fix this (system reset perhaps) or is the machine now 'kaput' or damaged beyond repair?

Thanks

Still having problems. Rebooting helps for a while but the problem remains.

Thanks
