Big beastie
« on: April 20, 2004, 12:49:06 »
Okay, didn't have camera, as usual, but came across a big beastie in the greenhouse....I will describe.... dark glossy brown, almost black in colour, looked like an earwigs head, with legs at the front, then a long legless back end with big pincher jobbees on its bum!  I figure a grub of some sort, but what on earth does that turn into, and what is it doing in my greenhouse??

Rove beetle - devil's coach horse, perhaps? Good beastie, eats slugs etc.

Nope.....googled it and found this website...

good to look thru..... but still looking for my thing.  It had more legs up front, I shall have to go have a poke around in the gravel to see if I can find it again.
