ahhhhh....and a proper sturdy tricycle....and I bet those trousers were scratchy flannel stuff :)

if he's anything like ray, he had to " wear those short pants until he was 14", of course it depends on your age !!  :)

My parents tried to make me wear shorts in secondary school, and I got bullied so much over it I ended up in tears. It was one of the very few times I actually got a helpful response out of them.

We did unfortunately  wear them in the infants..Jnr and start from Secondary Modern

Had my first pair of New Shoes at the same time...played Football in
school ...caught the sole and ripped it off a bit....didnt dare go home until after dark...hide them under the stairs...got found out ...had the customary
wallop....but they were good days...I think the term is CHARACTER BUILDING ;D

my brother, tom was the same, he was very tall with very long, white legs, I got away with wearing a long pinafore that I "would grow in to", took me 3 years !!   :)
