Pansy Appreciation
« on: November 13, 2006, 20:36:35 »
I officially hated pansies up until this winter. i thought they looked so bloody awful and fragile. But I can't get enough of them now....i've probably got like over 100 plants in my garden now.

here's some pictures from my garden....post some of yours :)

ahhh bliss :)

lovely show of pansies. I like the tiny viola's. I usually make a couple of baskets up in early spring. They provoide a stunning display for a long time too. You are doing really well with your garden
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

thanks shirlton. oh and by the way...those water irises are doing well now i think. all this time i had them in pots....and they didn't get watered that much so they went all brown but produced new leaves all the time. but now i've still got them in the pots but they now sit in shallow water in the pond that i'm building. the water's about 3 inches deep.

thanks so much for them again :)

I made some winter baskets with trailing small pansies this year, they don't appear to have trailed, but look pretty nonetheless. Will take and post pics tomorrow weather permitting.
I love the deep red pansies Wahaj- they look so rich.

they are...i'm not sure if you can see....but on the other side of the pot i have a really deep red heuchera....which i rescued from B&Q lol.

All the pansies i bought as small plugs from wilkinsons. they were selling them 48 plugs for £5. they looked pretty dismal but i must say it's the only time i've been pleased with house a plant turned out from wilkinsons. they have provided colour and interest to no end and are very healthy plants that just won't stop flowering.
