don't know what to cover it with, it's a bit green, does it need nitrogen , i.e, manure or leaf mould or maybe both ?

don't worry about the green but your tomatoes, cucumbers, melons and chillis will love it next year if you get a good bit of manure in.

right, will just mulch as normal with manure, cover and leave for the winter, it's cucumber bed next year, will also dig some pits and fill with fresh stuff :D
