you're a 'creamy' kinda guy ;D
orange, wow, didn't know that was possible - we bought our house purely because it had this bright red aga, the rest of the house was virtually falling down - but we had plans for all that food we were going to grow - up in the north west, it seems everyone has an aga :)

My new bosses dad is an Aga engineer. They have a green one, and so does my boss. Some serious aga envy goes on when I partake of their facilities.

A relative of mine spent £10,000 on a big cream one. Makes me sick :P :D
And besides that...I'm always gasping for a cuppa because it takes so long to boil their "aga" kettle. Think I might take an electric kettle with me next time I visit.
I'm so envious lol!

An AGA? I think my kitchen has approximately the sam efootprint as an AGA. Would have to cook standing in the dining room
I live in the cheap bit of the North West - no AGAs here

Interesting, Heldi - how long would it take you to boil 4pt very cold water?
Just tried it on the AGA - well down on reserves after a day's cooking - 6min.

Did 20 years on Anthracite. Decided I was too old for that & went onto oil. The price of which has doubled in a year!! The 100 year-old Jeunesse still uses Anthracite.
A more realistic boiling check, Heldi - this am - 1litre/2.5min - OK??

1.7 litres in a tad under 2mins. Barely enough time to get the tea bags out!
I'm beginning to think cousin's isn't working properly! Even six minutes would be fast for theirs and lets face it,six minutes is no time at all by the time you've got your cups, teapot etc out. Next time I'm there I will time it. We always have a spot of leg pulling about the kettle.
Is it because if I'm visiting I'm usually there afternoon to late evening? Does that make a difference? I honestly haven't a clue how the big beastie works.

Some kettle, Heldi??
If the tops have been open a lot during the day then, yes, the temp will be down.
No matter - in 58 years we've only once not cooked on a range.
