While I'm waiting impatiently to get the keys to my plot, can anyone recommend a good book to help get me started on organic fruit and veg growing? Thanks!

Have a look in the

Some ideas there, no doubt others will have ideas also.
Cheers

Hi, I refer back to these all the time...
The Allotment Handbook by Caroline Foley
The HDRA Encyclopaedia of Organinc Gardening
The Complete Gardener by Monty Don
All available from the SHOP (thanks for the reminder Dan!)
Good luck with the lottie!
Cheers,

I really enjoyed "Allotted Time: Twelve Months, Two Blokes, One Shed, No Idea"
- you sort of absorb info as you read the story (and there are several very informative appendices).

PS Jekka's Complete Herbs is one of my 'bibles'. Think a new edition has come out.

Thanks all, for your quick and helpful replies. I bought "Allotment Gardening" by Susan Berger on the way home last night and read it cover to cover, so just
had
to buy another this morning on the way to work! Have now got my nose stuck in "The Allotment Handbook" by Andi Clevely – both are really helpful and offer lots of advice about gettting started. I also have Monty Don's "The Complete Gardener" at home (xmas present) for when things are up and running... but there's always room on the book shelf for more gardening books! ;)
