Bargains at Asda
« on: September 16, 2006, 20:31:00 »
;D I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a Hoe for just 87p :o a rake for the same, a spade for £1.49p and secateurs for just 36p :o ;D

OK they are cheap and nasty but greatly reduced and I won't cry so loud if they get niked up the Lottie, good old Asda. ;D

I bought Asda Fork for £1.97 and lasted one dig......so went and bought Spear and Jackson at B.Q. for £14.98 with a lifetime guarantee!...been using this on tough digging for 2 weeks now.....I would sooner pay a little more for quality!
I have green plastic box which I can put tools inside on plot.

Like I said "I won't cry so loud if they get niked up the Lottie" I would scream blue murder if they niked tools worth £14.99 each :o I have had a fork up the plottie 2 years that has a plastic handle that is being held on with a hose clip ;D it cost me 50p from a car booty and refuses to break. ;D again ;D

I think most of my lottie tools were bought at Wilko, cheap but sturdy. My stainless steel spade only cost me £6.99

With you on this Roy! Currently we carry tools back and forth because although we have a ... no two ... sheds the site is burgled from time to time. I wouldn't like to have to replace all the tools we use.

A neighbour on our lottie sinks their old fork and spade deep into the ground then ties an old compost bag over them, it must appear totally undesirable and uninteresting as they have been using this idea for the past two years without probs. ;D

got a better idea...

Head to your local tip, usualy there is a couple of guys who make sure that the rubish goes in the right piles. They also have a tendancy to pull out things that can be reused.

Like tools which they sell.

I got a hoe, large garden claw and a shovel for £1

all brand name good quality and still going after a years use
