my carrots have suddenly started growing,the are very small at the moment,will they be any good or do we dig them up please

Try having a "furtle" around - just learnt that word from supersprout on another thread!  Love it!  i.e. have a little gentle dig around and see if there is anything there, without disturbing too much.  From my v.limited experience of carrots, you can see the top of the root poking through the soil when they are of a decent size.  I could, of course, be wrong (!) that's just what I found...  Let us know the results if you decide to "furtle"!! :D ;D :D

I could firkle in my carrots, but like the sweet potato I'm leaving it as long as possible!
