What to do with my Romanesco
« on: October 26, 2006, 13:02:50 »
Hi all,
Just received a lovely looking Romanesco in my veg box this morning and was just wondering if anyone had any ways of cooking it that would do it justice...?
Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)

Depends upon size - cut off the individual florets or cut it in slices to suit.

Steam till just tender - no more.

Delicious.

definitely cut into florets by cutting the stalks, then diners will be able to marvel at the shape.
I find the taste as robust as broccoli, so would go for a sizzle of oil, garlic and chilli tipped over the steamed veg if you wanted a bit more zip :)

Just cooked and dressed with lemon and best olive oil - slurp  :P
Lottie-less until I can afford a house with it's own garden.
