I D Please
« on: October 01, 2006, 18:47:33 »

This is the dried version! It is a large plant, 3-4ft. Saw it in someones garden and asked for  seeds. He very kindly gave me a whole head and told me it's name. I didn't write it down and of course now I don't have a clue.Don't even know the colour.Sorry to be so vague. ::)

If that is the flower stem then it looks like a Phlomis, though there are different kinds of that.

I agree with Eric.  However a word of warning.  I had to give up growing them because the leaves, although large, were totally ruined by slugs and snails.   :(

Yellow flowers?  I'd agree phlomis, although from the picture it could be a bergamot if the flowers were red pink or white & it had scented leaves.
is it in the sale?

Thanks all. I think it is Phlomis. I'll give it a go and be on the slug and snail alert.!
