What to grow in my new "wild" area?
« on: September 11, 2006, 13:27:36 »
Hello all,
I'm about to venture into unchartered territory (for me) with.... FLOWERS!  De de der! :o
Yesterday I mowed the lawn and it had been a while since the last time due to a combination of wet weather, my laziness and a general hatred for our rubbish mower.  Anyhow, the grass had gotten quite long and I decided to leave a patch and create a "wild" section.  SO my question is this...

What can I plant to make it look wild and lovely?  I was hoping for a meadow type effect.  It's only a tiny area (OH said he'd mow it all down, so have made it small in the hope that he won't notice!!) but I would love to see it transformed!  also, is there anything that I can plant that will flower in winter?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)
