Strawberry growing help needed
« on: September 05, 2006, 19:30:43 »
Hey,

I bought some strawberry plant from tescos last week and there were 3 plants in each. i divided them and potted them into individual plants and they're doing fine....carrying on growing.

what do i do now? they've got about 3 leaves each. do i have to put them in the ground? or overwinter them inside and plant in the spring.

i've no idea what variety they are unfortunately. the packaging didn't say.

Unless the ground is prone to waterlogging I'd get them into the ground pretty soon!

Id stick them in too.

You wont get much fruit next year - some people even pull off the flowers so they put all there energy make plant in the first year. Though I'd keep a few runners next year to make more plants.
Straight outt'a compton - West Berkshire.

Please excuse my spelling, i am an engineer
