Mirabelles?
« on: August 29, 2006, 21:59:44 »
Whilst walking the dog I've discovered what look like two plum trees.

One has small red fruit about the size of a cherry with pointy bottom and one is yellow, slightly larger, again with a pointy bottom.

Does anyone have any ideas what they are?

Do the taste test,Blisters. Mirabelles are so much sweeter than other plums.
Picked similar (not with a pointy bottom though-((plums not me)) ) and have made jam, fruit liqueurs, leather and frozen some.Loads more to pick, I am surprised more folk don't pick for free.
If you are apprehensive about tasting, give to someone else to taste-then watch them closely......... ;D
Smile, it confuses people.
