Topic: Field Mushrooms Glut

Came across a few mushrooms this morning, picked for three minutes and filled a carrier bag and left the rest for someone else. Must of been this years weather but there were thousands!

I have the Roger Phillips' book. Really good book, beautiful photos.

I've eaten field mushrooms and puff balls before. What I noticed was that they shrunk considerably after cooking. Shop bought mushrooms never shrink that much!

We unsucessfully tried to grow mushrooms this year. Now have loads of them coming up in the horses paddock!! typical eh?

Lovely big field mushrooms and more popping up every day.
