chinese cabbage
« on: August 21, 2006, 09:11:31 »
 Hi all,  :D
I am growing chinese cabbage, (richi anF1 variety) for the first time, I have sown the seeds in  two  4 inch  pots & now have 14 seedlings up & the first true leaves coming through. Should they be planted out now?  Any other tips on looking after them? All advice gratefully received.

                                                                  Adrian.

yes, plant them out now - you might want to protect from birds (being a brassica the pigeons love them) and the slugs/snails will enjoy them as well

alternatively you could pot them on individually until they are bigger and then plant them out - the bigger they are the stronger and thus less liable to pest damage
