Topic: If you don't know if it's supposed to be red or green...

I mixed up all my lables and i don't know which pepper plants are supposed to produce red peppers and which should have green! I have some big peppers (6 inches) that are green...do you guys think they'll turn red or stay green? the varities i started with are california wonder, marconi rosso and one other red one. i love red peppers way more than green by the way.

I think I'm right in saying that virtually all turn red. But they take some weeks after the fully formed green stage. For productivity, pick them green.
Yes - I like most to be red!

Here's my first red one. Sunnybrook - always early because it's small.

wow, that is one red pepper! even my almost red ones aren't that red! ok, ok, i guess i will pick some green. but i have to leave some to redden!

Keep one plant for red?

Just one plant though as when it has ripened fully it won't set anymore new peppers, but as Tim says cut green increases productivity as it keeps flowering to set seed!

oh i didn't know that one the peppers on a plant turn red it won't make any more peppers! aww...i'm sad about that. thanks for letting me know...

I would say, rather, that ripening some will merely slow or reduce further yield?
