Tomatoes.
Inside or out, DO go up BOTH sides - at least twice, in different diections - checking for sideshoots.
If your greenhouse has a high roof, DO look twice at the 'stopped' leaders to make sure that they haven't started off again. Our tips are over 8' up & it's damned difficult to spot new growth - especially into the sun.
DO use scissors to pick the bigger fruit - the stems are almost unbreakable & often don't have a 'knuckle' at which to separate them. It is easier for the whole truss to tear at the main joint!!
Although ripening on the plant is supposed to give the best flavour, ripening them indoors can help production.

Cucumbers.
I wish I could follow my own advice. I tried to treat the RSM with Eradicoat - very conscientiously - because night temperatures were too low for predators.
The delay - coupled with a further week for delivery - was fatal. It's going to be a long haul back to health. The speed of RSM reproduction is quite astounding!
Next year I shall go for the full Monty at the first evidence of the plague.
