the things we do
« on: July 27, 2006, 14:43:23 »
it is around 26C out side and I am standing in very hot kitchen with a pan of gooseberry jam and a pan of raspberry jam on the go. I feel as though I am boiling myself nevermind the fruit.

Vez - only 26C? You ought to be down England way where that is a 'good' summer temperature.

But I do know the problem. That's why I put a 9" fan over our AGA 45 years ago!

And Jenny - like what. Apart from being a tech expert??

At work, my workshop is reading 30C when I arrive in the morning. Soaking my T shirt (or wearing no T shirt) is the only way to cope ...

Cookie - funny how so much thought/money is given to the frontage rather than 'backstage'?

Curry - no T shirt? The mind boggles!!

I know compared to down south we are getting it a little easier but I was not made for the heat. I was made for the scotland where it rains, blows a gale and summer is usually a week or two. ;D
it has been hotter annd I have stopped believing the weather forecasters as they keep telling me it's raining and thundering here in dundee and I have not seen rain for at least 3 - 4 weeks now.
On th eplus side no need to go abroad for a holiday and the fruit production has been brilliant.

Privilege of where I work Tim. Needs must. You may recall, my lack of a T shirt caused a bit of a stir some time back  ;) However, this must be considered grossly off topic for a recipe board !!!

Cor, what I wouldn't give for 26C - was about 32C in our bedroom last night >:(! Still, I'm hugely impressed that you can make jam (gooseberry - my favourite!) and post here at the same time!

Cheers,
Rob ;)
