flea beetle
« on: July 18, 2006, 14:32:01 »
Hi there - just joined today

Flea beetle always gets the rocket, and have learned to live with it, but this year they've got onto the turnips as well. Any ideas about why and what to do. Wouldn't mind, but I just love turnip tops -best greens in the world, though beetroot leaves are good too.

Some dust with derris powder, but best to cover with fleece as soon as germinated, that way you get a clean crop.

I'd use the fleece method, but not much use once the damage is done!

I think the little things can get under fleece, best meathod I have found is to spray but I know a lot of people on here do not like using chemicals which of cause, is up to them.
