manure deliveries
« on: March 25, 2004, 10:27:30 »
I have decided that my plot needs more manure than I can deliver in a few bags in the back of my small car. Can anyone help with :

1. How far will 1 tonne of manure go when spread out? I know that depends on how thick you spread it, but any indications welcome.

2. How much do you pay for manure deliveries?

3. Anyone know any sources in the Berkshire area?

thanks

Stephan's the manure expert?
We are lucky - stable or cow locally - £4 per 4'x6' trailer - 'the-chap-who-does-for-us-sometimes' collects within his £9/hr.
Sometimes easier to think 'yards' rather than 'tonnes'. = Tim

The going rate in NW Hampshire is ~£25 a ton/load

A ton/load ~ 1 cubic yard

As 1 Cubic yard ~ Cubic Metre

a ton will cover a standard allotment (30 x 10 yards) about 1/8" thick

Unless I've lost a nougth somewhere ~ not a lot
