Just looked at www.metcheck.com and they have a severe weather warning out for South and South east England predicting heavy rain and thunder.

Hooray! must be my fault, I put some guttering up on the shed on the lottie yesterday...this should fill that barrel!

Was woken up about 4 am by a very loud bang here in Whitley Bay - huge clap of thunder and flashes of lightening, and then a torrential downpour.
Was back to the sunshine this morning, but the sky is becoming overcast again this afternoon. It is the town's Wild West extravaganza today, so people will be hoping any rain keeps off for the moment. Hope your summer show goes well for you ACE. :) busy_lizzie

a good drenching of rain lasted about an hour here, preceded by a sky sooo dark that the street lights came on .

Lorna, Last night we had thunder, Amphibian about 9 miles away says he had torrential rain, we had some, but hardly enough to wet the pathways :'( Then today, lovely black clouds rolled in, HUGE claps of thunder, and about 3 mins of rain..............harrumph, better than nought I guess!

What a wonderful sound.....it's called.......rain!!! :D

been steadily raining as Pete says above, here in the Reading area since just before 1 o/c and no real thunderstorms to 'scare me' into turning the computer off!....

keep it up please - we need several hours of this to do any good.

Do hope all those needing rain will get some soon.

No thunderstorms and very little rain here in dorset today despite the forecast. Enough rain to wet everything but the soil where its needed!

Yet I keep hearing about all these tremendous storms people keep having.

Just not fair. We need RAIN!

There was continuous thunder to the south around 2.30 this afternoon, and it was obvious we were on the edge of something major. It never moved north though; we got a couple of hours of honest rain, but not the floods we need.

big thunder storm here (mansfield) this after noon, rained for over an hour, should perk things up in the garden. as well as the weeds, lol
