beercans and trousers
« on: October 28, 2004, 12:14:39 »
(From gardeningguild)

SOGI pot This is Yeoman's Self-watering Organic Garden Indoors. It is an empty beercan, with perforated base and 2 inches of hydroleca at bottom, filled with potting compost and a capillary strip snaking therein from top to bottom. It rests in a tray of weak comfrey tea. Any small thing will grow in this device, indoors, through the hole at the apex if the tray is kept filled. The shiny metal cap helpfully reflects light back onto the emerging seedling.

TrouserTote: a bag made from old jeans or trousers which, hoisted over one's shoulder, facilitates the carrying of potatoes, intoxicated gardeners and other tiresome baggage.
