Mmm, sloe gin, not sure about the tonic though!
My mum has been to check out the blackthorn bushes where they are, and apparently they are laden. Last year was poor, so this is great news.

They're a type of plum, and last year I had no plums at all due to the very cold spring. This year I've got a good crop coming; I haven't checked the blackthorn.
