Topic: Using Bubble Wrap for Shading?

Hi all.

My greenhouse is currently shaded using bubble wrap.  Has anybody used this? I'm worried it's blocking out slightly too much light.

We tend to use fleece for shading.  I'm not sure about bubble wrap, but hubby likes to take it out of the greenhouse quite early, simply for light.

I think fleece is better, as it casts a shadow, rather than blocking out light.

This query is also on non-edible and there I have said that I have used bubble for a few years with no problems. I do make sure when I first put it up that I can open the vents, I use auto-vents which open as soon as the temperature goes too high.At the moment I am using coolglass, as I took my bubble down ready to replace next autumn,coolgalss is easy to put on and take off,whereas some of the others need almost scrubbing to remove.

Years ago I got a tester pot of emulsion paint and watered it down and painted it onto clean glass worked a treat.
I now use old net curtians as shading very posh hee hee.

I normally use bubble wrap for insulating the greenhouse during the winter, not for shading in the summer though.

I normally paint the glass with a specialist mix (coolglass or similar)
