Apple Tree.
« on: June 18, 2006, 21:40:07 »
Hi All,
I have a 'James Grieve' apple tree which is, perhaps, 20 yrs. old.
Last year & this year, a sort of cotton wool, whatever, growth has shown itself at previous years pruning points. I have moistened the areas with methylated spirit as this works with a similar prob. on firethorn.
I'm afraid the tree is riddled with canker but it fruits every year to gay abandon.
Any advise for the future, I love the apples. They don't keep so we freeze them all.
Eskimo Nel was a great Inuit.
