Wood Pigeons
« on: June 11, 2006, 16:05:30 »
Took 4 trays of cabbage plants each containing 50 plants up to the allotment yesterday morning, put them down why i got on with other jobs, went home to watch England play football intending to plant my cabbage later on in the night when the weather cooled down, but when I returned the pesky pigeons which I did not give a thought about had pecked them down to the stems, if only the allotments were nor against some houses they would be having some led shot up there ar**s.

Netting is the only answer, they have taken out loads of brassicas and I think they were the ones who dug out some peas and ate the seed from the frame, Mice earlier in the season but not so sure now!

I had bad problems with the pigeons this year too and made some little guards for the peas to protect them just as they were coming through.
