Dogs out in this hot weather
« on: June 12, 2006, 23:56:24 »
I am amased why people take their dogs out for walks in this hot weather.
I was down lottie from 8 till 12 this morning and from 11 onwards it was hot and the amount of dogs been taken for walks unbelievable.
Even from 1 till 3 at home watching the dogs going passed the house I could not believe.
Even our neighbrough brought his dog over to me on lottie at 12 the dog was panting so much and droolong owner said it is hot I am sweating so I pointed out the dog was not doing too good either.
The weather is hot and they do have fur coats, pavements, roads are hot on their feet dont people think.
Sorry rant over.

Soooo much nicer to go out either very early morning or evening time (or both)
Apart from being cooler, the 'smells' are more acute. (for the dogs of course ;D) I'm sure if the dogs were asked, they'd rather NOT go in the heat, let alone the dogwalkers. But hey, mad dogs and Englishmen.............. ::)
Smile, it confuses people.

We are lucky, big garden so the door is left open and she can go in or out as she likes.  I feel sorry for dogs with no garden as their owners have to take them out somewhere to do the necessaries.  We just go out for fun so we can choose when to go. 8)
