is it ok that my maincrop potatoes (desiree) are in flower before my second earlies (pentland jav)?

Desiree always seem to flower early - mine are in flower before most of my earlies aswell, and were last year... I'm still going to have a poke about my earlies later to see if there's enough for tea though :P.

I've got the same two spuds as you and the exact same thing is happening with me as well. Last year I ate some desiree as small earlys and they were actually nicer then the first earlies!

My Desiree plants are flowering too .. I grew Pentland Javelin last year and they didn't flower at all! So I'd have a look to see what they're doing because by the time we gave up waiting for the flowers slugs had eaten the potatoes!
