Do tell Ken. I'd love to have a go at a little one anyway (I think one that size would fill my entire garden!)
gone to pot :D

First off I'm putting a few quicky crops in followed by tom's, Cape Goosberry and possibly a melon or two. It's amazing how quick the soil in there dried out, but water level isn't too far down just here so I don't see a problem. I'll fit some sort of door on but I've left a 4" gap at the top/back for insects to fly in and out. Which reminds me, I'll put some sweet peas around it and have them climbing over the top on bits of string. It's gonna look like a Wendy house!

I like the sweet peas idea - very pretty. More pics needed then! That should help attract lots of beneficial insects too.
gone to pot :D

Hi KK,

Do you hire yourself out?  ;D

I'd love a greenhouse like that! Far more practical than all the preconstructed ones you can buy.

If you could post us tips on how to go about doing it from scratch I'm sure my husband could cope in building one about half the size.

OOh, the fun I could have!!

Planning what I'll put in it already  :P

Thanks for the URL, Fingle, being a practical person it's interesting to see the efforts of others. I made mine on the cheap but the one you point to wouldn't be beyond the capabilities of any handyman. Probably a bit pricey if a pressure treated timber construction was contemplated. Anyone with time and a few bob spare might want to consider the one shown, personally I'm a 'make it from owt' sort of bloke, (like most gardeners?) Also, not living close to my plot I considered making it as strong as was practical without spending a fortune. It's already with-stood gale force winds off the North Sea and it's just too 'home-made' for anyone to consider dismantling and nicking. I'll get my brain in gear and attempt to explain my construction methods. (Like most things I make, I tend to make a start and 'design' as I go along until I'm reasonable happy with it.)

This is 'Gallery' so I'll put my plastic greenhouse building explanation (as against 'design!') in the 'Tips' thread.
