S'Burys staff had inavertently left two flower buckets near the trolley park as I was on my way out, couldn't leave them there all lonely, could I?

Kaypee, what have you done with your pot bottoms?

I used a hot tomato slicing knife to cut the bases off mine tonight (and yes, thanks, the cut on my thumb's stopped bleeding now ;)) and then used that pointy tool to make 3 holes in a couple of them - wiggled the tool around a bit & enlarged them - they'll be the  supports for 3 canes in a wigwam. Neat trick, eh?

A bucket was always a good thing when I was courting, if the girl was shorter than me, I stood her on it, but if she was taller I put the bucket on her head and I pulled myself up on the handle. It sounds better than poking 3 holes in my bottom  with a pointy thing.

Went on a really long detour to get home this pm just to go to Morrisons, in search of the elusive black buckets.  You really have to hunt for them dont you? but found them and had the last two sets.  It seems that staff in the Acton branch can count so only 8 for 99p but I ain't arguing ;D

By the sounds of things, I need to stock up on plasters before attempting to turn them into bottomless pots ;)

;D ;D ;D ACE

SMP.....don't 'do' plasters. Micropore's the stuff. A must in my first aid box, garden tool bucket - and knife drawer :D

And I cannot believe that you're all finding these black buckets :(..do Aldi have them for sale? Going there on Sunday - gonna do a growbag sweep there.

I managed to bag meself some of these wonderful Mozza'a buckets and the lady at the till suggested a red hot poker for the bottom.  Thought she was a bit barmy at the time, but obviously she had a point! :D

Not quite the same as black buckets, but our local morrisons is selling black and green grape vines.
I bouht one (black) last year and it is going great guns! :D  Bought two more this month, have been looing out for them for ages. They are a hardy variety and only cost a couple of quid so vimo here we come, hick!

So would you recommend the grape vines then?  I spotted them last week and spent time debating them, then decided no - but if they're good, I may well pop back.  Did anyone get any of the fruit trees they were selling?  I intended to get an apple tree and a cherry tree but my procrastination meant that I missed out, as per usual. :-\
Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)

Went to Morrisons today and hadn't intended to get black buckets but while waiting for my mum by the cafe, I saw them and they screamed to me, come and buy me and my friend here for £1.98. So, 16 buckets is a bit much but sure I can find something to stick in them.

Alishka, SMP is right, sometimes they're hidden away under the display tables / flowers - keep looking .... 24 buckets languishing in my local Morrisons ... sliced my bottoms off with secateurs

Oh, just a thought - does your Morrisons sell cut flowers ??  If not, that'll be why you can't find them

Lish .....  ;D

My Morrisons has got the flowers on display in big green square buckets and it was only by chance i spotted some black ones one day.

Have you actually asked the store ??  do they not get them at all ?

half mine are gonna be used for aubergines but they're nowhere ready so the buckets are just sitting there .... i feel guilty !!  lmao

Used one today, to wash the car, which one shall I use tomorrow? I shall take some to gardeners world live. So those without can approach anybody and shout  'YOU ARE NOBBY thingy AND I CLAIM MY FREE BUCKET'

If you are right  you might get one, if you are wrong the men in white coats will take you away.
