hello all, just been given a load of wood ash and told 'that will do your plot some good' .
being polite i said 'thanks,great'
but now i haven't a clue what to do with it ??? ???.
Ive just dug in all my manure, can i stick it on top of that?, and can i put it on the bits i haven't manured for my root veg

Wood ash always ends up on my alliums, ie onions, leeks and garlic, as these seem to appreciate it. There is normally a limited amount of woodash, so I tend to use it relatively sparingly. As a result, I rarely use it anywhere else ...

I would avoid roots ...
