slugged seed potato
« on: April 10, 2006, 08:30:01 »
I noticed yesterday that one of the earlies was shrivelling, and further examination showed holes and a slime trail and little white, uh, turds... uh oh I thought, slugs... it was very light so I cut open the potato and found the whole of the inside was black, dry, mouldy, rotting and full of tunnels. Yuk! (Sterilised knife in case there was anything else causing it, and binned it).

Next time, I shall be more careful when I'm picking my seed tubers to make sure they don't have stowaways!
